Committe Notes: April 14, 2006

Friday we spent the day videotaping for our access awareness video to be distributed at CTCs.

We started by learning about the video camera and tripod. Each of us took turns taping the shots we had identified for Intermedia Arts (IA) and Project for Pride in Living (PPL). By the end of the day I think we were all fairly comfortable with the equipment. We tested the external mic with Lindsey doing a run-through of PPL's orientation and of Sarah and Lindsey talking about solutions and challenges to access at PPL.

We will include an interview/dialogue from each site, but we need to come up with some questions for the interviewee that focuses on the themes we are working with. For example, at Centro, we will ask Roxanna how the murals have helped to create a welcoming environment; at Intermedia Arts, we will ask Marlina what steps she took to make a performance more accessible.

We have LOTS of footage, and three sites left.

Tentative plans to shoot at Lexington Library on April 21. To do this, we first need to find out if we can have a couple of hours at the end of the day next Corps day for committee work, if so:
  • Jesse - find out if we can shoot at Lexington Library Friday, April 21 starting around 3:30 PM; also, get a location release from the library
  • Linda - Check out camera and tripod, get more mini-dv tapes
Other sites to shoot:
  • Waite House - April 28th Linda and Lauree; Lauree will check out meeting room and get a location release
  • Centro - Ken and Roxanna get back to us on when and location release esp. for the murals
Editing is going to be fun and a challenge. Remember to check the training link on http://www.current.tv
